There were wide chatity activities, especially during the First World War. Some of them are mentioned in Pisareva's memoires "The history of Russian Theosophical Movement" published not long ago by Quest Books under somewhat strange title "Beauty of the Russian soul".
The Russian Section was one of the mose successful sections of that time (at least, in its outward activities).
