Jiddu Krishnamurti Phenomenon

The Jiddu Krishnamurti Phenomenon

Ever since Jiddu Krishnmurti came on the world scene, we have not seen any
theosophical leader of his stature. We have had professors, scholars,
mystics, occultists, etc. but none could command the turnout we have seen
with Krishnaji. His books, audio and videos are also very widely
distributed.

Since 1960s Krishnaji made sure all his lectures were videoed. He saw a
need so that future generations can receive see ideas unvarnished.
Digitized copies of all his books can be found on cyberspace.

Compared to the above, in the theosophical circles we see a very
significant trend. Not only we have seen any leader of Krishnajiâs stature
as a lecturer, but no effort was made to video and preserve lectures of
theosophical leaders and lecturers. In addition, we have not seen any of
the well known theosophists active on the Internet (looks like an organized
boycott), which is todayâs medium of choice. In addition, we do not see any
serious effort to digitize and distribute theosophical materials. On the
contrary, all newer theosophical publications are very pricey making them
beyond the reach of average citizen.

On observing the above trend, are we to conclude that it is meant to be
that with the advent of Krishnaji and his message, dissemination of
theosophy has to take a back seat?

PS: Even though in December, the talks at the International Convention was
professionally video taped, only the public lecture by Professor Menon was
uploaded to youtube in a matter of days. Rest of them are yet to be
released and we do not know what is going on.
