Revisiting HPB's Contributions

The old adage - âthere is nothing new under the Sunâ is worth keeping in
mind when we consider the evolution of man and the universe.

All of us who are fortunate to learn about theosophy need to be reminded of
the role that Blavatsky played and how TS as an organization necessary to
disseminate the information that HPB gave out to the modern world.

In here epic work - The Secret Doctrine she says:

âThe aim of this work may be thus stated: to show that Nature is not âa
fortuitous concurrence of atoms,â and to assign to man his rightful place
in the scheme of the Universe; to rescue from degradation the archaic
truths which are the basis of all religions; and to uncover, to some
extent, the fundamental unity from which they all spring; finally, to show
that the occult side of Nature has never been approached by the Science of
modern civilization.â

âThe Secret Doctrine was the universally diffused religion of the ancient
and prehistoric world. Proofs of its diffusion, authentic records of its
history, a complete chain of documents, showing its character and presence
in every land, together with the teaching of all its great adepts, exist to
this day in the secret crypts of libraries belonging to the Occult
Fraternity.â

âMore than one great scholar has stated that there never was a religious
founder, whether Aryan, Semitic or Turanian, who had invented a new
religion, or revealed a new truth. These founders were all transmitters,
not original teachers. They were the authors of new forms and
interpretations, while the truths upon which the latter were based were as
old as mankind. Selecting one or more of those grand verities â actualities
visible only to the eye of the real Sage and Seer â out of the many orally
revealed to man in the beginning, preserved and perpetuated in the adyta of
the temples through initiation, during the Mysteries and by personal
transmission â they revealed these truths to the masses. Thus every nation
received in its turn some of the said truths, under the veil of its own
local and special symbolism; which, as time went on, developed into a more
or less philosophical cultus, a Pantheon in mythical disguise.â

Any student of theosophy knows that around 1875, several attempts were made
trying to bring to the attention of the world, the verities HPB is talking
about. Most failed and only the joint venture of HPB and HSO succeeded and
we and the future generations are all beneficiaries of their sacrifices.

During the last century, there have been many mystics and spiritual leaders
and none of whom have presented as good a comprehensive picture of the
origin and evolution of Man and the Universe as HPB did through her
writings. The reason is simple. The project of theosophical presentation to
the modern world was that of two Adepts who are part of the Occult
Fraternity she has mentioned, chose to guide and advise both HPB and HSO,
though were always behind the scenes. No wonder that with such guidance,
theosophical movement succeeded and continues to do so.

Let us not forget the sacrifices of HPB and HSO and how everyone of us have
benefitted from the theosophical knowledge we are lucky to come across.
