HPB has clearly stated that TS was launched not as a school to train future
adepts, but to establish Universal Brotherhood so that Humanity will be
helped. But, many organizational theosophists seem to have been misguided
into believing that some of the practices recommended in inner groups
somehow makes them part of some elitist group and not paying much attention
to the ordinary men and women and students of theosophy.

If you believe in Karma and Reincarnation, how can one not understand that
each one of has to take responsibility for our own spiritual life and not
look for some guru or leader. Taking responsibility for ourselves is not
easy.
