Thank you all for some interesting responses.  

I am a little confused still over whether space travel would be
possible for mankind at this present stage of development. 

I'm trying to find out more information through bringing these
questions of mine into my sleep.  The astal of the moon:  will it
cause man to drop out of his material body?
